Screen Testing Result

After the screen testing day on yesterday, I collected some information about the lighting and field study for the shooting on Tuesday, 15 November at 1:30 p.m with Mr. Cheng Cheung Hing.

Firstly, there is some information about the shrimp paste manufacturing. The perfect day time for the exposure the shrimp paste on strong sunlight is between 7:00 am to 3:00p.m, it is for fermentation or drying. Therefore, I should be arrived there early on the meeting day, to capture best moment of Tai O resident’s daily routine and the shrimp paste manufacturing. Most shrimp paste factories are family operations and production takes place between May and September as this is when shrimps are available appear in Hong Kong waters.


Since the winter is coming, it is going to turn cold. The peak season is ended. Therefore, the two Shrimp paste factories operation of shrimp paste are now only responsible for takes order, fermentation, drying, and quality checks and packaging. Luckily, almost every Tai O resident knows how to make shrimp paste, especially those living in traditional stilt houses. Hence, I will try to capture the special moment from resident’s rooftop, balcony and back yard. Because, they used to home-make some dried food and place in there. Also, I will visit the some local store where is major sell dried food.
