          In this stage, I finally finish all the shooting and editing. The outcome of the video is good and I am so lucky that many people help to produce it.

          For the shooting, I am so lucky that my friend can lend me so much things. He lend me his camera, all the light and his home and studio also. Besides, he help me for the lighting part for the video and also the comment of the shots.

          Besides, the actor and actress in the video. They are form my friend's friend and they all from one drama. Without their helping, my video can't have so many people to perform.

          Also, I have learn how to manage so many people in a video to make sure they can have time to come and I can let them left on time. Although I have spend some money to produce this video, I still feel happy that I can make a video successfully as I think.

Skill (4K)

          The other skill that I used in this project 2 is 4K shooting. Actually 4K shooting is not a hard skill to use, it is just for helping the post-production. The camera I used in this project is sony A7.

          The editing file size for my video is also 1920 x 1080. I make all the footage into 50% as I have used 4K shooting. The advantage that I use 4K shooting is that I can make the video bigger. As the file size that I use is 1920 x 1080 and 4K is equal to 3840 x 2160, I make it into 50% to fix 1920 x 1080. But sometimes I want to make that shot more close, I can make it larger and the video still clear.

          4K shooting can help me if I don't have enough shot, I can make it larger and it can become another shot that closer.

Skill (Chroma Key)

          In this project 2, I have use some skills to produce it. Chroma key is one of the skills that I have used in the production stage.

          In the video, I have three scenes that need to use chroma key. The photos above is one of the scenes that I have used chroma key. As I hope to make that the boy travel from one to another place, so I need to use chroma key to help to make the effect.

          In the production of chroma key, it is not to hard to make it. In shooting, the important things is that the lighting of the place need to be enough as the post-production stage will be more easy if the lighting is good when shooting. And the post-production stage, the green screen need to make more detail that not to cut the boy or not to leave out the green screen.

Shooting Schedule

          As I have 5 shooting locations and  I used 3 days for the shooting.

          The first day of shooting is on 22 Oct. I have done the location of home and studio shots. The call time on that day was 8am and I first done the shots at home. We finished the home shots at around 4pm then we go to the studio that is very near my friend's home. We first done the toilet shot first, we finished at around 8pm then we went dinner first. At around 2am on that day, we finished all the home and studio shots.

          The second shooting day is on 29 Oct. We done the Nam Shan Estate shot only as there are many shots need to shoot there. The call time on that day was 10am and we start at around 11am. We have done the shooting quickly on that day and we finished at around 4pm.

          The third shooting day was on 6 Nov. We need to shoot the Jordan Valley Park Community Garden shots and Kowloon City shots. The call time on that day was 11am and we start the Jordan Valley Park Community Garden shooting. We finished the first location shooting at around 3pm and we still have some time as we need to wait the night. We went back to studio to take rest and went Kowloon City at around 6. We start the shooting and we finished at around 1am.

Shooting location

There are 5 shooting locations in my video.

1. Home
I have ask one of my friends that help me for the whole shooting and borrow his home also for some shots.

2. Studio
Besides his home, I have also borrow his studio for shooting the shot of toilet and clubbing.

3. Nam Shan Estate
Most of the shots in the video is shot from this estate. The main shots in the video are from Nam Shan Estate.

4. Jordan Valley Park Community Garden
The shots of those girls with the boy are shooting from here.

5. Kowloon City
The shots of final scene are shooting from Kowloon City.

          I have search out some anti-drugs video as I will put somethings about taking drugs action in my story, so I need some information to help. Here is a reference of anti-drug video from RTHK. In the video, they mainly focus to show what will you do or what comes out when you take drugs. The other contents beside drugs are a little bit normal and boring. The middle part of the video that the boy can have three chance to go back to the time he want and save the girl is quite interesting and it can help me to think out others to make my video more interesting.

          This video can let me to consult that I need to let the other parts to be more interesting as to let people to keep watching the video. Besides, this video can help me to get some informations of how people will become after taking drugs. After watching this video, it can help me for my video contents and the theme that I want to bring out.

Transgression

          After present the topic, idea and theme of the Project 2, the comment for me is to think more about the content of the story. The draft of my idea and story outline is not clear and too simple, I need to try to think out some special things in the story that can let people interested to watch.

          For my first idea, I just think of a boy that he meet problems and then take drug to solve the sadness problem and then he know that is not a good way and he give up take drug.

          After thinking about the story for some days, I have change some about the story. The story now is a boy that he saw some strange people doing something and he try to follow them to see what happened. One of those strange people drop one box on the ground and the boy pick it up and try to touch the thing inside. He find that it is happy to touch the things and he start to find those strange people to ask for those boxes. The boy start loving to live in that happy moment and try to dress like those strange people. At the end, the boy want to go back to original life and he find that he can't go back and stay in that fake live forever.

          The story still not yet done and I still need time to think and make it more interesting.

Video idea and outline

          For my video, I will according to my topic and my theme to set up a story to shot. As "Life" is my topic for my Project 2, I hope to set up a story about a boy's life that included the transition of his life.

          The beginning of this idea is that I saw a Facebook post which it said that one human's life time can be equal to an A4 paper that separate into 900 boxes. After I saw this, I hope to make a video that can stop people to go wrong way as life is not that long for people to go for a wrong road.

          The outline of the video will be a boy that he met some problems, he feel sad and then he find some wrong way to release his sadness. At the end, he found out that's no a good way to release but he can't go back.

Project Proposal

          I choose to do video project too in my Project 2 as I hope to put this video in my portfolio to help me find a better job after graduate.

          In this Project 2, my topic is "Life". This time I would like to mention about human's life. "A human's life can be separate as an A4 paper with 900 little boxes and each little box is equal to one month of your life." This is a hot topic recently as to remind people that life is not long as you think, take your time and try your best to live as you want.

          My theme is about that a life is short, don't waste your time and take every moment good. To show out this theme, I choose to shot about a boy with an experience that he waste his time and he regret that he waste his life also.

          My purpose is to remind people to take your time, don't waste your time and don't forget your family members too.

The video of project 1 has done, there are many improvement and comment in my heart for this video.

First, time management is very important in this project. It seems a long semester for doing this project, but it just only have around 3 weeks for you to do the production. Time management is very important that I need to set up a time table to let myself finish each step on time.

Second, since this is a one man production, I need to ask some helpers for help in the next project. As I want to make a good video, I can't do all by myself like acting and shooting.

Third, as I know the week point of myself is to think about the idea of a video, I need to take more time to think about the script and change it if needed.

As I know I do not good at all, but I have try my best every time and I know I will improve every time after.

Two days after the shooting, I have done the first rough cut and still feel I got a lot to make it better and improve.

Story 1:
In story 1, I think there are some shot at the end need to shoot again as the footage was not as good as I think I can do. Although this is a one man production, I still want to try my very best to make the video as this is one of my specialty.

Story 2:
The production of the insects is not good, many footages need to make better. The problems I have is that my computer is very slow, I need more time to wait for the loading of each step.

Story 3:
This video seems not bad but still need to change and improve.

After the first cut, what I feel is that one man production is not easy. Although I have try pre-production, production and post-production in a real business video, this is the first time for me to do all things by myself together in one product.

After finished my shooting days in 26 July,2016 and 27 July,2016, there are some little problems comes out and I have to get changes of my project 1 video.

Shooting day 1 of story 1 is well, the whole process is smooth. I can start on time and the finish time is just behind half an hour of the schedule.

In shooting day 2 of story 2 and story 3, story 2 get some big problems and I have to change the idea about the story. At the beginning, I hope to shoot about the real insect as to make them to be like a human. I hope to mix and match with their real move and fake talk by voiceover, but on that shooting day I find that the real insect is hard to control. I can't shoot the footage according to the script, luckily I prepare the second plan. I have print some real insects to help shooting, I have try to make the video by using them. At first, I can handle it for the shooting but time goes on, I feel too hot and a bit sick because under the sun for a long time. So, I just shoot some area shot only and make the insects by post-production.

For the study 3, although story 2 make a long delay, I still can finish the shooting on that day.

I hope the post-production can do well as I really put many effort on it.

In my blog 7, I will talk about the location that I use for my shooting and  what equipment I used.

First, for story 1. As it just happened in a bedroom, so I borrow my friend's bedroom for one day shooting since I don't have bedroom at home. My friend's home is in Kennedy Town, it is not very far away from my home so I can bring the equipment there easily.

For story 2, I choose to use Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park to be my shooting place. I have visited there before and I know there have many grass and it is suitable for me to shoot the story 2.

For story3, I choose to use Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, Wan Chai Sports Ground and my bed to be the shooting place. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park is also a famous place for people to run there so I can shoot story 2 and 3 at the same day. But unluckily, Wan Chai Sports Ground was closed on my shooting day so I changed to Causeway Bay Sports Ground.

For the equipment that I used for this project, I use my camera Canon EOS 700D to shoot all three stories.

In this blog 5, I will talk about my shooting plan which is my shooting schedule.

I have divided the shooting into two days. Story 1 "Specialist" will be on day 1. Story 2 "Life" and story 3 "Passion" will be on day 2. Day 1 is on 26 July,2016 and Day 2 is on 27 July,2016. As the video is not a long timing video, I think I won't use too much time on shooting.

In my "Respect" video, the first story is about "Specialist". It is about a designer to get many comment from the client and he feel that is not his product when it comes out. To get the idea of the client, I have watch a YouTube video about designer before which is from a TaiWan people. Besides the ideas from that video, I have do some research in my working company as to ask for the ideas. I am working in a production house which have some graphic design for different companies, so I have ask one of my friend sit next to me in office for his experiences. After combine the ideas from the video and ideas from my friends, I have wok out this story.

But in the story, viewers cannot listen the comment from the client. They need to estimate from the designer face emotion in the video.

In my intensive production, "Non-linear narrative structure" will be used in my video. Non-linear narrative structure s a narrative technique can be used in film and also films may use extensive flashbacks or flashforwards within a linear storyline, while nonlinear films often contain linear sequences.

In my project 1, I will use non-linear narrative structure which means A, B, C. As the picture above, there is a narrative base on the top. Under the narrative base, there will be a A and a B which they have no relation between. For my narrative base, "Respect" is my topic and narrative base. Under "Respect", I got A, B and C which they are non-linear. As I have said before in the previous blog, A is "Specialist", B is " Life" and C is "Passion". 

These three are the things that I want to carry out about respect but they have no relation in between, so I use "Non-linear narrative structure" to make my project 1 as to make it to become a good and special structure video.

In this blog, I will introduce my video idea and outline.

For my whole project topic, I choose to use Respect to be my topic. As respect in a big topic, we can respect many things. So I choose some of the little topic to talk about in this project. Under Respect, I take three little topics to shoot about. They are Specialist, Life and Passion.

Specialist
It is about a specialist do not get respect from the client. At the start of the video, the specialist listen to the client's comment on his work. He keep changing his work to match the client's request, but the client have said he don't have any requirement for this work. At last, the specialist give up the job and put the original work on the internet and the work got famous.

Life
It is about some little insect go to join the grass's funeral. I will use a funny style to make the video to irony the human's respect to grass or flowers. In the video, we can know that humans do not respect the grass and step on them always to let them die.

Passion
It is about a sportsman who work very hard on his specialty, but he don't get any respect from people. It is about a sportsman not care about the income and focus on his specialty. He trains everyday and very hard but he can't get any prizes so people not respect him coz he don't have achievement.

Project Proposal

In my personal intensive production project, I am going to make a short video about the topic of Respect.

"Respect" is always a hot topic that people talk about in daily life. "Respect" is also a wide topic that can talk about many things. In my short video, I will make "Respect" into three small topic. My short video will belike a Hong Kong movie "Ten Years", "Ten Years" is the big topic and it have five small video of different small topic. Mine is "Respect" to be the large topic, inside "Respect" I have three small video of three different small topic.

I do this topic, "Respect" is because I think people always need to know about this term. My video can help people to remind their heart about respect. Also, some people may lost their empathy and my video can help them think about and change back their mind after watching my video.
