Blog 5 – Filming
Filming day 1. Location: SCAD HK, Shum Shui Po.
Parts of scene 2 and
scene 4 had been filmed quickly due to limitation of the availability of the
location, which was only accessible through personal connections. It was quite
difficult to look for already made futuristic looking elements without having
to build it from a scratch or create it online graphically. And that is why it
was decided on the location due to their rather convincing futuristic looking
sleeping pods. And even then, the security team of the building made regular
checks as we were using some expensive equipment, making the first filming
quite tense and stressful that day for both me and my actress. We also had time
restriction on the venue so we had to finish filming within 2 hours. This was
quite troublesome as setting up equipment along a narrow corridor then finding
good angles for filming and doing a run though the script already too some
time. Also, as it was an open facility for the use of all students at the
school, we had to be extremely quiet as to not disturb the other students.
However, we were able to finish filming within the restricted time period
without any major incidents.
