For my project, I would like to create a Sci-Fi film
about the effects technology has on society and social interaction in the form
of vlogging (video blogging) and virtual reality as a social media platform.
Being an avid viewer and big fan of many YouTubers, I am
curious as to what happens behind the scenes that they have chosen to show us.
At 1st glance it seems like they are just doing the things they
love, hardly any different from any other normal people. And still they can
make a living off of doing what they like, some becoming unbelievably famous or
rich without becoming unreachable like movie or sports celebrities.
I have also researched upon how technology can
negatively impact disrupt our lives with just a computer glitch to something as
serious as a virus. Our over-reliance on google for answers instead of simply asking a friend show the consensus that we are getting too used to the
convenience that technology is offering.
For this short film I plan to integrate themes such as
communication, public and private self, desire, escapism through denial of
reality, perception reality and cyborg.
