Artist research
By referring to the project proposal, I would like to choose the local famous female artist in Hong Kong, Denise Ho Wan See, to be the artist represented in my photo media project. I have chose Denise Ho because of her outstanding behaviour as an artist, a public figure, also the often media exposure and her friendly image towards society especially young people in Hong Kong. There are no doubt that she would be one of the artists influencing young people the most in recent years.
As to do a better presentation on how Denise Ho affecting young people, I have did some research on her. First of all, Denise Ho has a boylish outlook as she is homosexual and she is very open to speak on homosexual topic and fight against society’s discrimination on homosexual. Second, she is very active on political and social topic towards media outlets, usually on the side that against the Hong Kong government and China, the most impressive one is her support for the Umbrella Movement in 2014. These kind of outstanding as well as brave image is very impressive and influencing toward young generation, that’s why I decided to chose her.
