Research on Andreas Gursky Photography
Andreas Gursky is a German photographer and he is
known for his large format architecture and landscape with color photographs.
He often applies a high point of view to it. On of the perspectives in most of
his photographs is drawn from elevated vantage point. Since the position allows
the audience to encounter scenes and encompass with center and periphery at the
same time, which are ordinarily beyond reach. Before the 1990s, Gursky didn’t digitally
manipulate his images. Few years later, he decided to make use of computer
software to edit and improve the quality of his picture. After that, he created
an art of spaces, which is larger than the subjects photographed. Most of the
journalists described his photographs as “vast”, “splashy”, “entertaining”, and
“literally unbelievable”.
