Photo media project topic:
Public housing estates in Hong Kong
Project statement:
The topic has changed slightly and it became more specific after the first meeting regarding to the development of the project. The
purpose of this project is to enhance the awareness of maintaining and promoting the
characteristics of aged buildings, such as architectures and views to the
young generations and foreigners. Since public housing estates in Hong Kong own its historical and nostalgic values towards people, it attracts and influences me to discover and study about it. Moreover, the shape of public housing estates makes me feel interested in it as well, such as Slab, H Block and Linear.
At the same time, public housing estates in Hong Kong are essential to us since it represents different moments
and events from particular places and buildings. Meanwhile, the formation of aged public housing estates are be captured by different angles, which creates social feelings and meanings to us. For instance, Choi
Hung Estate in Wong Tai Sin and Nam Shan Estate in Shek Kip Mei.
