My second interviewee is the fresh graduated working adult. The reason that I find this interviewee for my video because I think he can provide some different view because he is a fresh graduated working adult. At last he provided some critical view on this topic.

He had experienced what "bing gor" is portrayed. So he can provide some useful opinion and view for my video. But there are some problem I have met when I shoot that part. The first problem I met was the shooting area was the office. So I affected his colleagues to work and also I couldn't shoot it well. And the solution was I shoot the video after their working hour. So the time cost of this part was quite heavy.

The content of blog 10, not about for my video shooting or edit, because I have finished the final version video, so in this blog, I will talk some about my evaluation essay about this project 1.

As previously mentioned, in this project 1 I am using the interview method for shooting my project video, then I use is qualitative research rather than quantitative research, so in this video I am just to access one respondent in depth understanding about him, this method is better than quantitative research. And only one respondent in my video, it can make the audience more focused to think about the story of the respondents and my theme.

Then when I start to use the adobe premiere pro to edit my interview video, my first is choosing the main shots, and select part needed to do the full video, put those to the editing timeline. I am shooting many shots, so I select desired part is not an easy thing.

And the other problem is about the voice, because sometimes I am shooting the interview video, the interviewee voice is very small, it has made me so difficult to do the subtitle. But in the last, I am also finishing it, and make the voice louder.

In my full video, I am also using some footage to express interviewee's answer, in this footage I also use the games shot, a part of game shot is the interviewee provide.

Last Sunday, I have interview the secondary students. During the interview, I have know more about this topic through the point of view from the secondary students.

The first point is the reason the interviewee listen the "Bing Gor' is because of his classmates and friends. He said that this is the culture and topic in school. And this reason is quite new for me because I did not think about it before. So this interview provide some new point of view to me.

53intake_Law_Hoi_Yin_10635513_Project1_Blog5

For my video, I will make a Documentary and it is an interview about how and why the teenage in Hong Kong enjoy to listen the "Bing Gor". And here are the questions I will ask the interviewee.

1) Do you know what is "Bing Gor"?

2) If yes, how do you define what "Bing Gor" is?

If the interviewer answer no in question 1, I will define and tell them what "Bing Gor" is.

3) Will you express your feeling through "bing gor"?

4)  How will you use it?

5) Can you recognise a song that you think it is "Bing Gor"?

6) Do you think "Bing Gor" is the mainstream of the Hong Kong Pop culture? Why?

7) Do you think there are two types (male and female) of "Bing Gor"?

8) Do you think the culture of "Bing Gor" represent the view of love of teenage in Hong Kong?

Then when I finish all the parts of interview shooting, I am starting to edit my video, but it is a big difficult work. Because edit a video is a long time job, I need to choose the useful shots, make a full video. And my video is an interview video, so I need to do a lot of subtitle.

When I edit my project 1 video, I am using the MacBook pro iMovie to edit video first, however, I'm not accustomed to using this software, and so in the final I am still to use the adobe premiere pro to finish the video edit.

In last week, I have to third time shooting. It is because my first and second time shooting, those shots have some problem or some mistake on the shooting techniques. For example, in my interview I am shooting not too much scene, almost just uses a same background and same angle. And the second problem is a mistake of the screen brightness flicker, sometime when I am shooting the interviewee, it would have some external reasons to affect my shooting.

In view of this, I change my shooting techniques, choose to use many different angles and place for shooting this interview. In this shooting, I'm not just using the indoor scene, I'm even trying to use the outdoor scene for shooting this interview.

When I finish the first shooting, I find I forget some question, and the first video has many mistakes, so I need to shoot a new interview again. Then this time is my second shooting of this interview, so I learned from the last experience, I put the visit is divided into three main parts to shooting. on the other hand, I am also using the different background to shooting the interview, I hope to be able to give a different feeling to the audiences.

However, in the different place shooting, I need to face some problems. for example, we can't control the people's action, sometime they would make us can't shoot, because they will speak loudly or those places would have sounded interference.

In last two weeks ago, I have the first video shooting. The first time shooting is a test of my interview, before start the interview, I told the respondents the plan of the interview shooting, and give him the question list, let him have more concept about our interview.

On that day, I am not only visiting one respondent, it is because I hope the interviewee can bring a friend come to here and accepted the interview too and his friend is meeting in a same game will be better. So he really brings a friend come to interview too, his friend also is meeting in a same game and they still keep in touch, even if the interviewee no longer addicted to the game.

My project 1 is a interview video, in this video I would through visit a interviewee to bring out my topic, the influences of video game console medium and human relationship. In this time, my interviewee has a long experience of playing games.

Then in the interview, I would ask him some questions. Those questions are also about his experience of playing games, the problem is divided into three parts. The first is about his background, let the audience have some concept on the respondents. Second part is interviewed addicted to the game, in this part the audience will know the reason of why he would addicted to the games. And then finally is access him, when he no longer addicted to the games, his life has which change.

After I understand that there are 6 types of documentary. I decide to make a Participatory Documentaries. This kinds of documentary aims that to explain and educate the things to audience. Besides that, it also obtain the element that observe the subject and give audience a point of view about the subject. Also, the video maker of participatory documentaries will always participate in the video and it is usually an interview. And it is suitable for my documentary because I will shoot a interview video.

With this type of documentary, the audience will understand more about the phenomenon of "Bing Gor" through the interview. They can also get a thorough understanding through observe the interviewee. So I think this type of documentary is good for my video.

Types of Documentary

To decide what kinds of documentary I will make. I find that there are 6 types of documentary. They are Poetic Documentaries, Expository Documentaries, Observational Documentaries, Participatory Documentaries, Reflexive Documentaries and Performative Documentaries. And I will explain what they are.

Poetic Documentaries aims to create an impression or a mood rather than argue a point. They focus on experiences, images and showing the audience the world through a different set of eyes. The goal of this type of Documentaries is to create a feeling to audience.

Expository Documentaries speak directly to the viewer. It is always heavily researched and aims to educate and explain things. It is opposite to Poetic Documentaries.

Observational Documentaries are simply and spontaneously observe lived life with a minimum of intervention. The style of this type is to give voice to all sides of an issue by giving audiences first hand access to some of the subject’s most important moments.

Participatory Documentaries include the elements of Observational and Expository. It aims for immediacy and often presents the filmmaker’s point of view.

Reflexive Documentaries aims to draw the viewer attention to the filmmaker own constructedness. It always wants to challenge the assumptions and expectations about the form itself.

Performative documentaries is to promote the subjective experience and emotional response to the world. It is strongly personal, unconventional and might include hypothetical enactments. It is the direct opposite of the observational Documentaries.

I have watched a documentary from ViuTV for referencing. I think I will use this kind of style for my video. This programme named Talker - Inside Out (http://viu.tv/encore/talker-inside-out#talker--inside-oute1sing-go-chiu) . The style of this programme divided in two parts. the first part is the street interview part. And the second part is the interview with some guests.

For the street interview part, the programme maker have a street interview to ask about how the interviewee feel about the topic of that episode to make a brief understanding to the audience about the topic.

And the second part in the interview with the guests to understand about how the guests feel about the topic of that episode. After that the host will ask more and thorough about the topic to attract the audience to the topic and let the audience get a thorough understanding about the theme of the episode.

I will choose this kinds of shooting style because it can let the audience get a thorough understanding about "Bing Gor" and attract the audience about this topic. So my video will become more attractive.

My project 1 is chosen to shoot about the interview, in this video I just to access a one interviewee, this method is named ͞Qualitative research͟. Relative quantitative research, qualitative research focused on smaller but more concentrated samples generated information or knowledge about a particular case study. It is because the difference is qualitative research telling you "why", the quantitative research is "how much". When we use qualitative research, is hope can in-depth to target of the specific features or acts to further explore its causes.

And the qualitative research great majority is use in-depth interviews to collect the data, so it has more in-depth information and less emphasis on reliability and validity. Then I can have more and deep information in our interview.

The intensive production, my topic is about the influences of video game console medium and human relationship. Then at this time I would choose to interview someone to know more of him, and his story is about something effect of a game in his life. But in my first plan, I hope to find a man is being a Cosplay, and then his special place has been he not just a cosplayer. He also is an "otokonoko", this word is meaning he would wear a wig, makeup and women's wear. However, he doesn't want to be photographed faces, and his friends also for the same reason to refuse my interview shooting, so I had to give up this topic.

But luckily, I find a man can help me to finish this interview, he once had addicted to the game situation. Now he is no longer so addicted to the game, so I think he is my topic target, his story can help me to do my project1.
